Paul Auster Book Cover Design

Paul Auster book cover concept
These books are an example of how a collection of Austers writings could look. The common feature of this book design is the ripped paper. I have chosen to work with different ripping techniques because Auster himself is very analog in his writing process. I wanted the design to mirror his style. I have also chosen to pair color and b/w photography to symbolize the existential theme of the books and the duality of light and darkness in life.
The plano view of the book includes a biography on the flap of the book and a short description on the back.
The backs of the book seen together, like they would be in the box set. The colors are bright and paired with a modern geometric font to attract a younger audience.
